UPDATE: "No Stimlus Money, Thank You"...

So here it comes. Senator Jim Clyburn (D) of South Carolina has said that if GOP governors refuse to accept the stimulus money it will be a 'slap in the face' to black Americans. (Are you serious?!?!) Clyburn cites this as an example of why the stimulus plan has the provision in it for the State legislatures can accept the money if the executive declines it. "Clyburn's spokeswoman later said he didn't mean that he thought those governors were racially motivated, but rejecting it would hurt large black populations in their states."

This really is becoming a "new day" in America. And I do NOT mean that positively. These kinds of remarks made by those elected to represent the whole of America is a step backwards from the works of MLK, Jr. and others for EQUALITY. What a shame but definitely (and sadly) not a shocker.
